    Anastasia: The Musical – Youth Edition brings the thrilling legend of the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov to the stage, exploring her rumored survival of the execution of the Russian imperial family.

    The story follows Anya, a brave young orphan suffering from amnesia who embarks on a quest to uncover the mystery of her past. She is joined on her journey by two unlikely companions: Dmitry and Vlad. Together, they travel from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, all while trying to evade Gleb, a Soviet officer determined to silence Anya forever.

    Under the general direction of Ana Paula Abreu and musical direction by Tatiana Sobral, this CEFTEM production promises a unique version of the classic. The scenic movement is also a highlight, featuring choreography by Clara da Costa that blends styles like classical ballet, waltz, Russian folk dance, and the Charleston to transport the audience through the story's different eras and settings.

    As da Costa notes, "Dance allows the characters to express emotions when words are no longer enough. It also helps to historically contextualize each moment of the show.”
